Assembly Station
Our stuffing machines were built back in the 1940s and, believe it or not, were originally used by the Navy to stuff life preservers. Each Bear part is placed on the stuffing nozzle, then a pedal is pressed to release the stuffing into the Bear at 100 miles per hour! Since the Bears have no way of actually telling us when they’re “full,” our expert stuffers have to pay close attention to make sure that each part is stuffed evenly and feels just right. The torso of the Bear is the last part that we stuff, and it doesn’t get stuffed until after the arms, legs, and head are attached.
