Vermont Teddy Bear Co. welcomes groups for factory tours and shopping.
Conveniently located in the Green Mountains, about 8 miles South of Burlington and just South of the Shelburne Museum, the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. factory creates an array of bears destined to make visitors of all ages smile.
An energetic team of Bear Ambassadors leads tours through the bears’ birthplace. On the fun, clever, and educational tour, groups learn how teddy bears are put together from start to finish as they see the creative process in action. In addition, the tour guide explains Modular Manufacturing, discusses the evolution of Vermont Teddy Bear company, and highlights the Beargram service. “I loved getting to see how the bears are made, the whole process, and actually watching people at work,” exclaimed Debbie D. of Prince Edward Island. The company has recently updated the tour route with additional sewing modules, improved the Bear Hospital, and added more visuals to enhance the tour experience.
Group tours are available year round, 7 days a week, with the exception of a few holidays. Visitors should arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled tour time.
All of the bears are guaranteed for life — tour-goers can see the Bear Hospital, a full-service clinic that every Vermont Teddy Bear can visit for free if they’re ever in need of a little TLBC — tender loving bear care.
After the tour has wrapped up, groups can spend time browsing the architecturally designed gift shop. Here, hundreds of bears are dressed to represent every hobby, profession, or special occasion imaginable. Among the gift shop attractions is the Make-A-Friend-For-Life® area, where visitors — both young and not so young — can create their own bear.
The Vermont Teddy Bear attraction can accommodate any sized bus group. Plan on a quick stop of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes including the tour and shopping. In the summer and fall, the tour costs $2 per person. The driver, tour leader, and step on guide are provided a complimentary tour and 25% discount at the store. Tours of the factory run throughout the day. Tour organizers should arrange visits as soon as plans allow.
“Our experiences
