JetBlue and Vermont Teddy Bear Big Hunka Love Bear Valentine’s Day “Wingman” Contest Official Rules, Terms & Conditions

No purchase necessary. Open to US residents 18 years of age or older. Employees of the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, JetBlue and their immediate families and household members are not eligible. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. By entering, you agree to be bound by these Rules.Entries must be received by 11:59 AM EST on February 2, 2012.

To enter, submit a photo and short description of your long-distance relationship at Vermontteddybear.com/wingman. Entries will be judged by a qualified panel of 5 judges and three (3) winners will be chosen on February 3rd, 2012 from all eligible entries received. Entrants will be judged based on equal weighting of originality and romantic appeal. All content submitted must be appropriate in nature and not contain any explicit language or suggestive content. Vermont Teddy Bear, at its sole discretion, can disqualify any entrant for content judged to be inappropriate. All submissions need to be original and can not infringe on any intellectual property rights belonging to a third party. Only the winners will be notified via email and/or phone and the winner will have 48 hours to confirm acceptance of the prize.

Winner will receive one “Big Hunka Love Bear” from Vermont Teddy Bear and one (1) round trip ticket for himself/herself and one (1) one way ticket for the Big Hunka Love Bear to fly from any JetBlue destination to any other JetBlue destination on February 8th or 9th, 2012. Actual date of travel will depend on availability of seats to chosen destination. Approximate retail value of prize is $299. Prize is non transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash value, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts. The Vermont Teddy Bear Company and JetBlue reserve the right to determine the services and activities included in the prize award in their sole discretion.

Eligibility to enter: Contest is reserved for the following:

  • US Residents age 18+
  • With long distance relationships
  • Who are willing to fly with and next to a Big Hunka Love Bear
  • Who are willing and able to carry the BHL Bear at minimum from plane to baggage claim
  • Who are able to fly on either 2/8 or 2/9
By accepting the prize, the winner is agreeing to receive the Big Hunka Love Bear from Vermont Teddy Bear at his/her departure airport on the day of departure. Entrant acknowledges and agrees to fly to their desired destination in a seat next to the Big Hunka Love Bear. The winner also grants permission to JetBlue and Vermont Teddy Bear to use pictures, images and/or video of the winner and the winner’s story as submitted for contest entry, for marketing, publicity and promotional purposes.

The following terms and conditions shall apply to the Travel Certificates awarded to the winners:
  • Each Travel Certificate is valid for departure on February 8th or February 9th, 2012 and all travel must be booked and flown within the valid dates shown on the Travel Certificate.
  • Redeemed travel on a Travel Certificate is subject to availability and seats may not be available on all flights. Certain blackout dates may apply and travel may be capacity controlled. Schedules are subject to change without notice.
  • The Travel Certificate is not transferable, and at no time may it be purchased, sold, bartered, or otherwise exchanged for value without prior written consent from JetBlue. Each Travel Certificate cannot be sold or traded on auction websites.
  • A passenger using Travel Certificate is subject and entitled to all provisions of JetBlue’s Contract of Carriage, except denied boarding and Bill of Rights compensation. JetBlue’s Contract of Carriage is posted on the JetBlue website at http://www.jetblue.com/p/jetblue_coc.pdf
  • Redeemed travel on a Travel Certificate is not eligible for TrueBlue points. TrueBlue is JetBlue’s customer loyalty Promotion.
  • A passenger using the Travel Certificate is solely responsible for any applicable fees taxes, surcharges, and/or service charges, including but not limited to Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 each way, September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 each way and a Federal Segment Tax of $3.70 per domestic segment. A segment is a takeoff and landing. Alaskan/Hawaiian offers do not include U.S. government excise tax of $8.20 per departure. Taxes and fees must be paid at the time of reservation and are subject to change as required by law. Proper documentation required for boarding.
  • Each Travel Certificate must be redeemed by calling 1(800) JETBLUE and following the phone prompts. Redemption of the Travel Certificate at a JetBlue airport ticket counter or online is not allowed. Loss of authorization number and PIN cannot be replaced.
  • Each Travel Certificate may be redeemed only for travel on JetBlue-operated flights. Travel Certificates are not available for use on any partner airlines or in connection with JetBlue Getaways Vacation Packages or Cruises.
  • Use of a Travel Certificate is subject to additional terms and conditions, and other restrictions may apply.
This sweepstakes is governed exclusively by Vermont law. If this type of contest is prohibited by state or local law in your place of residence, do not enter the contest.

By entering the sweepstakes, each entrant indemnifies both the Vermont Teddy Bear Company and JetBlue and their respective officers, directors and employees and insurers from any and all liability, loss or damage arising out of participating in the sweepstakes or with respect to awarding, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize.

All claims or disputes relating to the sweepstakes will be resolved Chittenden County, Vermont, by mediation or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

The winner will be responsible for payment of any tax obligations that may arise as a result of receiving a prize.

For purposes of these Rules, “receipt” of an online entry occurs when Vermont Teddy Bear’s servers record the entry information. Any automated computer receipt (such as one confirming delivery of email) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by sponsor of an entry for purposes of these Rules. In the event of a dispute about the identity of an online entrant, each online entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. The potential winner may be required to provide The Vermont Teddy Bear Company with proof that s/he is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.
